MLC COMPLIANCE:

Each master should be aware of the following points per MLC in order to consistently assure compliance.


1.DMLC PART 1 & 2 ARE ONBOARD, SAME DISPLAYED IN NOTICE BOARD?

2.IS THERE AN ONBOARD FLAG CBA COPY? THE SAME COPY IS PROVIDED IN A COMMON SPOT?

3.IS THERE A COMPLAINT FORM ONBOARD FOR THE WHOLE CREW?

4.IS THE COMPLAINT BOX SECURE, IS THE KEY IN MASTER CUSTODY, AND IS THE COMPLAINT LOG KEPT?

5. ENSURE THAT ALL SEAFARERS HAVE A COPY OF THE CONTRACT THAT IS SIGNED AND VALID.

6. RECORDS OF MESS COMMITTEE MEETINGS KEPT ONBOARD AND WEEKLY MENU AVAILABLE ONBOARD?

7. SEE TO IT THAT THE COOK'S CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION AND TRAINING IS AVAILABLE AND IS DISPLAYED IN THE GALLEY?

8. IS THERE A COPY OF THE CERTIFICATE OF RECRUITMENT AND PLACEMENT SERVICE AVAILABLE ONBOARD?

9. WEEKLY ROUTINE BY MASTER EFFECTIVELY CARRIED OUT AND RECORDED  
*Accommodation spaces are clean and in a good state of repair, and fixtures and fittings are in place and in good working order.
*Mess rooms are clean, hygienic, and comfortable
*All cabins have hot and cold running water
*Heating and ventilation, air conditioning adequate.
*Bedding is clean and hygienic
*Sanitary facilities are hygienic and clean
*The laundry facilities are in good working order
*Recreational facilities are appropriate.
*Galley, provisional store, meat rooms are clean and hygienic

10.ARE ALL THE PROVISIONS CHECKED FOR THEIR EXP DATE?

11.IS THE HOSPITAL CALLING ALARMS WORKING OK AND FREE OF EXPIRED MEDICINES?

12.DO YOU HAVE CLEAN COLOR-CODED CUTTING BOARDS?

13. DO YOU HAVE A COLOR CODED KNIVES ON BOARD?

14.EACH AND EVERY FIRST AID KIT AND EYE WASH IS FREE FROM EXPIRED MEDICINES

15.CREW CONCERNS ARE DISCUSSED AND RECORDED AT EVERY HSSE MEETING,?

16.FINANCIAL SECURITY CERTIFICATE AVAILABLE ONBOARD?

17.QUALITY PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT IS READILY AVAILABLE ONBOARD

18.DRINKING WATER TEST CERTIFICATE AVAILABLE ONBOARD OR PORTABLE TESTING KIT RESULTS MAINTAINED ONBOARD?
